About Nalu Kitchens & Cupcake Beach

Nalu Kitchens and Cupcake Beach were founded and are operated by Chef Andi Bell.

A native of Mountain Brook, Alabama, Chef Bell has resided in Destin, Florida since 1985. In 1990 he was gratuated with honors from the Florida Culinary Institute in West Palm Beach, Florida. He has worked in several highly successful establishments along Florida's Emerald Coast including Bud & Alley's in Seaside, Cafe 30-A in Seagrove Beach, The Hatteras Cafe in Destin and his most recent tenure as Executive Chef at Destin's famous Flamingo Cafe.

In 2001, Chef Bell was recognized as a "Rising Star in American Cuisine" from the James Beard Foundation and was Featured Chef at the James Beard House in Manhattan. While in New York City, Chef Bell also gave a teaching demonstration at the French Culinary Institute. Chef Bell has been featured in the New York Times, Southern Times Magazine and Gourmet Magazine. He has also been recognized in Florida Trend Magazinie's "Top 200" ten seperate times during his career.

Outside of his culinary creations, his interests include music, surfing, cycling and traveling. He is most proud of his beautiful daughter and concentrates all of his off time to raising her.
